Love Live X Five 2022
Internet connected computer program with live video feed, dimensions variable
Throughout the duration of a solo exhibition at bitforms gallery in New York, A webcam feed broadcast the process of restoring a Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture live, as it happened, from a camera installed at the artist's recently deceased father's fabrication facility in Connecticut. This ephemeral and temporary feed/performance was multiplied to 5 screens in a cross composition typical of much of Indiana's work. Love Live X 5 broadcast LOVE in homage to the artist's father Peter whose lifelong career as an art fabricator found him working with Indiana as well as many other seminal figures in art history, a career that greatly inspired and influenced the artist's artistic concerns, vision, and aspirations.
